Manipur still on the lead with 43 gold

Imphal, April 10 2013: Manipur is still on the lead after winning 43 gold medals on the end of the third day of the ongoing 27th North East Games organised by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports in Imphal.

Manipur who is still on th lead had gone so far for other states to catch up as its nearest rival Assam has only 15 gold medals in its account.

On the other hand, Manipur has so far won 43 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 11 bronze medals totalling to 74 medals to top the medal tally.

Meanwhile, Assam who is in the second place has 15 gold, 12 silver and 23 bronze medals in its account.

Mizoram with 12 gold, 12 silver and 18 bronze medals is in the third place.

Sikkim with only four silver and one bronze is at the bottom while Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Meghalaya grabbed the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions in the medal tally.

In women's football, Manipur and Nagaland have entered the final and the final match will be played tomorrow at 3 pm at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak.

Nagaland beat Meghalaya 8-1 in the first semi final match played today and entered the final while Manipu entered final after defeating Mizoram 5-1 in the second semi final match.

In the third place match, Mizoram defeated Meghalaya 2-1 and won the bronze medal.

In Men's football, Meghalaya and Tripura will play the final match tomorrow at Mapal Kangjeibung at 7 am.

Tripura entered final after defeating Mizoram 5-4 in the first semi final while Meghalaya defeated host Manipur 2-1 in the second semi final and entered final.

In the third place match, Mizoram defeated host Manipur 2-1 and won the bronze medal.

In men's hockey, Manipur deated Tripura 9-0 in the first semi final and entered the final.

In the second semi final match, Mizoram beat Assam 14-0 and entered final.

In Table Tennis, the pair of Kritika Upadhaya and Akankshya of Assam won gold in women's doubles.

The pair of Malika Gogoi and Muschana Gohai won the silver while the pair of Tanushree Das Gupta and Nandita Shabong of Meghalaya and the pair of Seema Okram and Romita K of Manipur won the bronze medals.

In men's doubles, the pair of Lalrinpuia and Lalhunhulua of Mizoram and the pair of Kaushik Phukan and Subhajit Bhattacharjee of Assam won the gold and silve medals resoectively.

The bronze medals were won by the pair of Th Dharmendra and Y Dinesh of Manipur and the pair of Salim Zaved and Chinoy Jyoti of Assam.

In women's Taekwondo, T Rajiyalily of Manipur and Joyshree Basumatary of Assam won the gold and silver medals respectively in 53 kg category.

Liaanthang Pull of Mizoram and lakshmi Mugli of Arunachal Pradesh won the bronze medals.

In U-67 kg category, F Lalrempull of Mizoram and M Sarjubala of Manipur won the gold and silver medals respectively.

Rekha Ranee Gogoi of Assam and L Joypriya of Manipur won the gold and silver medals respectively U-62 kg category.

Rajni Kaur of Arunachal Pradesh and F Lalmuasangi of Mizoram won the bronze medals.

In over 73 kg category, Kh Sanatombi of Manipur won the gold medal while Nileefa Begum of Assam and Saieng Pull Sailo of Mizoram won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In men's Taekwondo, V Lalrinzuala of Mizoram an Sujit Singha of Assam won the gold and silver medals in U-80 kg category.

Gamling Angu of Arunachal Pradesh and S Bikramjit of Manipur won the bronze medals.

In U-87 kg category, K Roshni Singh of Manipur and PC VL Rentluanga of Mizoram won the gold and silver medals respectively.

Yopise A of Nagaland and Arup Joty Das of Assam won the bronze medals.

Seyievilie Angami of Nagaland and K Sanjoy of Manipur won the gold and silver medals respectively in Over 87 kg category while the bronze medals were won by Fabian Lalduhawma of Mizoram and Biplab Bhuyan of Assam.

In U-54 kg category, A Akash of Manipur and james Tikhir of Nagaland won the gold and silver medals respectively.

Suraj Aly of Arunachal Pradesh and Arjun Pandey of Mizoram won the bronze medals.

In U-68 kg category, Durnakanta Chutia of Assam and WS Momochand Anal of Meghalaya won the gold and silver medals while Y Karora of Manipur and lalring Sanga of Mizoram won the bronze medals.

N Singhajit of Manipur and Suman Tamang of Sikkim won the gold and silver medals respectively in U-74 kg category.

Albert Lotha of Nagaland and Bikash Moran of Assam won the bronze medals.

In men's Judo, Lalreng Puia of Mizoram and Rahul Mipi of Arunachal Pradesh won the gold and silver medals respectively in U-56 kg category.

Balam Phang of Meghalaya and Robin Mach of Assam won the bronze medals.

In U-60 kg category, L Meino of Manipur and Ch D Ralte of Mizoram won the gold and silver medals respectively.

Deep Jyoti of Assam and Bijoy Saha of Tripura won the bronze medals.

In U-66 kg category, F Lalruatfela of Mizoram and Prasenjit Biswas of Tripura won the gold and silver medals respectively while the bronze medals were won by Rokuosielie of Nagaland and Ogam Boli of Arunachal Pradesh.

In 66 + category, Ch Rabichandra of Manipur and Megosier of Nagaland won the gold and bronze medals respectively.

Josily of Mizoram and Yangwok of Arunachal Pradesh won the bronze medals.

In Women's Judo, M kabita of Manipur and Anjali Sagro of Arunachal Pradesh won the gold and silver medals respectively in U-44 kg category.

Lalnunthari of Mizoram and Kulsum Begam of Tripura won the bronze medals.

In U-48 kg category, Kh Chaoba of Manipur and Chanka Chakma of Tripura won the gold and silver medals respectively while the bronze medals were won by Minoti Chetri of Assam and K Vanlalhriatpuuii of Mizoram.

In U-52 kg category, H Purnima of Manipur and Khrunezolu of Nagaland won the gold and silver medals respectively.

R Vanrammauuii of Mizoram and Doli Gogoi of Assam won the bronze medals.

In U-57 kg category, Lalhumhimi of Mizoram and I Nirmala of Manipur won the gold and silver medals respectively.

Yami mara of Arunachal Pradesh and Masuma Ahmad of Assam won the bronze medals.

In 57+ kg category, Kh Rashi of Manipur and Tluangizadeng of Mizoram won the gold and silver medals respectively.

Soktina Pohti of Meghalaya and Rani Borah of Assam won the bronze medals.

In men's weightlifting, M Romanta of Manipur won gold in 85 kg category while Thangminlal Kom of Manipur and Malsawma Khiangte of Mizoram won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In women's69 kg category, Llchhan Himi of Mizoram won gold medal while Th Nishila of Manipur and Rekhamon Borah of Assam won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In men's 94 kg category, A Thoungamba of Manipur won gold while Kameng Mawa of Mizoram and Pralokanta Sarkar of Tripura won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In women's +75 kg category, W Khomdonbi of Arunachal Pradesh won the gold medal while Lalchhan Dami of Mizoram and Mani Biswas of Tripura won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Montu Bharali and Dayananda Handique both of Assam won gold and silver medals respectively in men's 105 kg category while the bronze medal was won by Shri Snehasish Sarkar of Tripura.

In men's 105 + kg category, Lalrem Ruata of Mizoram and Md Dayian of Tripura won the gold and silver medals respectively.

In athletic events, M Santa of Manipur won gold medal in men's discus throw.

Winkie Lalthanchhunga of Mizoram and Gopal Barma of Tripura won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In men's long jump, Hasan Jahangir of Assam won gold while Masuk Miah of Tripura and M Alken of Manipur won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In women's discus throw, Ch Sushila of Manipur won gold while PromilaBharali of Assam and Dai Musri Basimatri of Arunachal Pradesh won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In womn's longjump event, M Priya of Manipur, Dipali Deori of Assam and Ratna Khatun of Tripura won the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.

Keran Moya Moran of Assam won gold med al in women's 400 m race.

Tulumani Doley of Assam and Ratana Khatun of Tripura won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Satardhar Gogoi of Assam won gold medal in men's 400 m race while Ng David and N Konungjao, both of Manipur won the silver and bronze medals respectivly.

In men's 5000 m race, Th Sanjit Luwang won the gold medal while the silver and bronze medals were won by Pache of Nagaland and Vanlalpeka of Mizoram respectively.

S Thabaton Chanu of Manipur won gold medal in women's 5000 m race.

Shoniu of Nagaland and Anung Wangshu of Arunachal Pradesh won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In Wushu events, L Naokhomba of Manipur won gold medal in men's Taijiquan while Bishal Baruah Medhi of Assam and Jahit Chisti of Meghalaya won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In women's Taijiquan, L Sanatombi and Kh Bidyashwori both of Manipur won the gold and silver medals while the bronze medal was won by L Memecha of Nagaland.

In men's Taijijian, L Naokhomba of Manipur won gold while Jahit Chisti of Meghalaya and Bishal Baruah Medhi of Assam won the silver and bronze medals.

In women's Taijijian event, Kh Bidyashwori Chanu and L Sanatombi Chanu of Manipur won the gold and silver medals respectively while L Memecha Chanu of Nagaland won the bronze medal.

Ng Indrakumar of Nagaland won gold medal in men's Gunshu event.

Arun Boro of Assam and W Tomba of Meghalaya won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In women's Gunshu event, Ng A Toshibala of Manipur won the gold medal while padmoni Narzary of Assam and N Pushpa of Nagaland won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In boxing, H Nando of Manipur won gold medal after defeating Arvind Pradhan of Meghalaya in men's 64 kg category.

Ch Dadu of Manipur won gold in men's 69 kg category after defeating Lallawmkima of Mizoram in the final.

Arjun Kanta of Assam won gold medal in men's 75 kg category after defeating L Amarjit of Manipur in the final.

Kh Rojit of Manipur won gold medal in men's 81 kg category after defeating Thejangulie of Nagaland.

LR Bawlliana of Mizoram defeated MM Sabir Ahmad of Manipur and won gold medal in men's 91 kg category.

In men's 91 + kg category, T Rideep Borah of Assam won gold medal after defeating Sushil Tamang of Sikkim.
