Imphal, June 19 2010:
Prizes of 2nd State Level Mathematics Competition organized by Action Lead Manipur were distributed today in a function held at GM Hall.
MLA Laishram Nandakumar and Commissioner of Labour and Employment, AR Khan graced as chief guest and president of the function respectively.
MLA Laishram Nandakumar contended "We should provide initiatives as well as incentives to our children to be able to compete globally with the children especially of the developed nations" .
In his presidential speech, AR Khan reminded that just as a single mistake in solving a mathematical problem will not lead to its solution, so also a single mistake in the daily struggle of life may lead one astray.
"We should be very careful in this regard," he opined that Mongoloids of the Tibeto-Burman group lack expertise in the field of mathematics and we should make sincere effort to popularize the subject.
