Imphal, April 28:
Aggrieved over the conduct of the Government towards the affected families, the works of BRTF along the National Highway 53
in Oinamlong area have been put on halt for an indefinite period with effect from today, reports our Jiribam correspondent.
According to secretary of Oinamlong village authority G Machiangdinang, the decision to halt the work of BRTF has been taken in protest against the disbursement of compensation by the Government to the affected families of the village.
The village authority has warned the BRTF to cease work or face dire consequences.
Non-BRTF vehicles would be exempted from the purview of the agitation, the village authority added.
