Imphal, January 14 2025: The State Government has constituted a Place Names Committee as per the Manipur Names of Places Act 2024 with retired IAS officer Bobby Waikhom as the chairperson.

Secretary (Land Resources) Namoijam Kheda Varta Singh issued an order to this effect on December 19, 2024 .

Director, Settlement and Land Records is the Member Secretary of the committee.

Other members include representatives from PWD, RD&PR, Art & Culture Department, Tribal Affairs & Hills Department and MAHUD, not below the rank of Joint Secretary.
