Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) will celebrate its foundation day on October 13 at GM Hall.

The students' body founded on Oct 13, 1998 has been actively engaged in its academic campaign, 'Eikhoi lairik ningthina tamsi ' .

According to a statement, MSF has sought the cooperation and assistance of all concerned for the successful celebration of its foundation day.

MALA seminar
Manipur Library Association (MALA) will organise a two-day national seminar on Modernisation of Library in Digital Era on Nov 14-15 at State Central Library Complex.

The organisers have invited papers for the seminar from interested researchers/teachers etc.

Go Green Drive campaign
45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) collaborated with the locals of Maibakhul village and conducted a Go Green Drive programme from Sep 26 to 28.The locals of Maibakhul village undertook an extensive cleanliness drive in and around the village.

The three day programme concluded with plantation of 4,000 saplings by the troops of 45 Assam Rifles and the villagers.

All the necessary assistance for the event was provided by the 45 Assam Rifles which saw tremendous participation of the locals in making this joint venture a success.

Snake bite victim saved
Medical team of 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of IGAR (South) saved the life of a snake bite victim on Sep 30.The victim namely Y Thoisana Singh (21) of Khongahnabi, Thoubal district was bitten by a snake while farming and he was immediately rushed to the unit hospital of 2 Assam Rifles.

The victim was readily attended by the medical team and necessary first aid was administered.

Memorial lecture
On the occasion of the 77th Remembrance Day of Late Dr K Binod Kumar Singh, Dr K Binod Kumar Memorial Trust organised its 2nd memorial lecture at JN Manipur Dance Academy.

Padmashree RK Jhalajit and Dr SN Subba Rao (Bhaiji) graced the function as chief guest and president respectively.

Counselling concludes
The five-day counselling programme on Lai Haraoba, organised by Manipur Pandit Loishang, has concluded today.

Pandit Achouba Ng Kerani, Pandityai W Lukhoi, Pena Sanglakpa L Leibakmacha, Maibi Asuppi S Baruni, Maibi Sanglakpi H Thoibi, Maibi Sanglakpa Y Tombi were the presidium members.

Mass casual leave
Members of the RIMS Nurses Association, Lamphelpat will take mass casual leave for three consecutive days from Oct 5 to protest the alleged failure of the authority concerned to fulfil the charter of demands raised by the association.

In a statement RNAL secretary H Priyashini Devi said the association is ready to launch other forms of protest if their demands are still overlooked after the mass casual leave.
