Arms, ammos seized at Moreh, CCpur

Even as a combined team of security forces recovered several arms and ammunition from Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles have deposited a huge cache of arms and ammunition it seized during operations to Moreh police station today.
The combined team consisting State police and Assam Rifles recovered the arms and ammunition from Khotuh village, Chura-chandpur today, said IGAR (South) in a statement.
The arms and ammunition recovered include one 9mm Carbine, one 9mm Pistol, five Single Barrel Rifles, one Tear Gas Gun, eight hand grenades and five improvised mortars ammunition.
The arms and ammunition have been handed over to Henglep police station for further investigation.
On the other hand, the arms and ammunition deposited at Moreh police station were recovered from an area 2 kilometres west of New Champhai on January 6 by a combined troops of 5 Assam Rifles and 3 Assam Rifles.
An area domination patrol was launched following reliable information about the presence of arms and ammunition in the area.
During the operation, the Assam Rifles troops came across a couple of newly constructed huts, which were razed to the ground later.
On thorough search of the surroundings, the AR troops found one AK-56 Rifle (unserviceable), one 9mm Pistol (Hammer Broken), one country made .303 Rifle, one country made Mortar, one country made Pompi, five country made Shotguns, four No 36 Hand Grenades, fifteen rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, eleven rounds of AK-56 ammunition, four bulletproof jackets/pouches, five country made bombs, four IEDs, two M16 Magazines, one knife, seven rounds of Shotgun, 62 metal pieces likely used in making bomb, one Motorola set, one Pencil cell charger, one AK-47 Magazine, one 9mm Magazine and one country made .303 Magazine.
The arms and ammunition recovered were brought to the Key Location Point Moreh and handed over to Moreh police station today.
