Solar lights, computers distributed; tribute paid

Imphal, January 09 2024:
As part of Operation Sadbhavana Project, Assam Rifles distributed 20 solar street lights to Chamu village in Kamjong district on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), in an effort to work for the betterment of local populace, Assam Rifles also provided five sets of computer and 10 street lights to Y Ngahmun Vangkho village, Moreh in Tengnoupal Dis trict under the said Project on Monday.
On the other hand, a wreath laying ceremony for rifleman Mangal Singh Lepcha, who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting insurgents at Peshami post on January 9, 1964 in Tuensang district of Nagaland, was held on Tuesday, the PRO informed.
The wreath laying ceremony commenced with laying of the wreath by the commandant of the unit followed by a motivational speech addressing all ranks and commending the inspiring story of the brave-heart, the PRO added.
