Continuing its campaign to ease traffic congestion and regulation in the market areas of the town, Imphal West District Police has reiterated its appeal to the general to avoid entering the market area with any type of vehicles including rickshaws and two wheelers.
In a statement, Senior Superintendent of Police of the district L Kailun, admitted that as a consequence of the ongoing drive, many inconveniences are being caused to the general public and tremendous hardship to settlers within the town area due to restriction of entry of all types of vehicles.
Nevertheless, the drive is being launched to clean the town area, ease traffic congestion and to contain movement/entry of UGs and anti-social elements in the town area, the police officer reasoned.
For the conveniences of the general public, the police officer further appealed to the people to park their vehicles in between Khoyathong and Watham Leirak on DM College Road, on the eastern side of National Highway 39 from North AOC to Nityaipat Chuthek, on the road side of Krishnapremi Oil Pump to Singjamei Supermarket, on the road side of Tiddim Road, Mayai Lambi and Waheng Leikai Nambul river bank and southern road side beyond Sanjenthong bridge.
No vehicles shall be allowed to stop in front of Johnstone Higher Secondary School, GM Hall, BT Road, Judge Bungalow and PWD office, etc on the National Highway 39, the police officer added.
