UNLF clarifies, condemns

Imphal, March 14 2015 : While strongly condemning the bomb blast of March 11 at the temporary market shed of Khwairamband Keithel which killed three people and wounded more than 20, the proscribed UNLF has clarified that it has nothing to do with the particular bomb blast.

The UNLF has been consistently reminding the ma- sses that the Indian military forces deployed in Manipur have been and would be executing many covert stra- tegies.

There have been numerous cases of murder of innocent civilians, involuntary disappearances and rapes at the hands of Indian military forces.

The secret killings of the Indian military forces have been exposed by the human skulls and skeletal remains discovered from the erstwhile Tombisana High School campus which was at one point of time under their occupation.

If searched thoroughly, more such mass graves would be discovered in many areas occupied and/or being occupied by Indian military forces, the outfit alleged in a press release issued by its director-in-charge M Sakhen.

The Government of India and its agencies have been waging a continuous proxy war with an ulterior motive to project the legitimate liberation movement of Manipur as some form of terrorism.

Fake encounters, bomb blasts in civilian areas and different forms of disruptive activities are parts of the Government of India's proxy war.

Revolutionary groups of Manipur never targeted civilians.

Even if civilians suffered casualties when the offensive launched by revolutionary groups went wrong, they always admitted their mistakes.

Alleging that the series of bomb blasts which rocked Imphal city recently were carried out by Indian military forces, the UNLF asserted that the bomb blasts were aimed at projecting the liberation movement of Manipur as terrorism and thus justify continued imposition of AFSPA.

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam conveyed his true feelings when he expressed strong suspicion about involvement of some security personnel in the recent series of bomb blasts at Imphal.

Then he contradicted himself by stating that it was not known which UG group was responsible for the bomb blasts.

There is also a strong suspicion that the bomb blasts which looked like targeting outsiders were aimed at projecting the mass movement for enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in wrong light.

In addition to understanding the covert strategy of Indian military forces to stoke people's anger and distrust against revolutionary groups by planting bombs in civilian areas, it's time for the masses to ponder over what responsibilities they must share in the struggle to save the Manipuri nation, the outfit added.
