Imphal, September 21 2023: The Langthabal Kendra Clubs' Coordinating Committee (LKCCC) which spearheaded the 48 hour bandh in the valley districts has said that they won't stop protesting until all the 'five village volunteers' are released.

The Committee, however, didn't specify what kind of protest they will take up.

Speaking to the media at Heirangoithong today, LKCCC president Yumnam Hitler said that they will convene a joint meeting with CSO leaders on September 23 at Heirangoithong to decide their future course of action.

Without giving any detail, Hitler continued that they will stage a protest tomorrow too unannounced.

"We condemn the 'brute force' used by security personnel against the protesters today, " he said.

According to him, the security forces fired/used mock bombs, rubber bullets, pepper sprays and shock batons against the womenfolk.

Hitler reiterated that they, however, won't stop their movement despite the excesses of security personnel until the 'village volunteers' are released without attaching any condition.

Today, hundreds of people came out voluntarily and stormed several police stations as the responsibility being shouldered by village volunteers to protect the State's integrity is immense, Hitler added.

He extended solidarity to all the people who got injured today while storming poli ce stations.

It may be mentioned that several police stations were stormed by womenfolk today demanding unconditional release of the five persons arrested on September 16 from Kongba areas by the State police.
