Foundation to confer awards

Kshetrimayum Yaima Foundation president Ksh Subadani on Thursday announced that the Foundation will be presenting the "Kshetrimayum Yaima & Thambal International Lifetime Achievement Award" from 2024 to individuals belonging to Meitei community who have made significant contributions in different fields including Manipuri language, Literature, Culture and education.
She made the announcement during the 28th death anniversary observation of Kshetrimayum Yaima held at Kshetrimayum Yaima Foundation head office in Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai, Imphal.
Ksh Subadani continued that to encourage writers/ authors of Manipur, the Foundation has started preparations to publish short stories, novels and biographies written by them every year.
Pointing out that only male writers have submitted their manuscripts so far, she appealed to all the writers/authors of Manipur including female writers/authors to submit their scripts to the Foundation.
Oriental College, Imphal former Associate Prof G Ibemhal delivered a lecture on the topic, "The life and work of Kshetrimayum Yaima" .
The programme was attended by Manipur State Social Welfare Board former Chairperson, RK Nayansana Devi; retired Prosecution director, Ngangom Tejkumar Singh; Bishnupur Hr Sec School former Principal, Wahengbam Hemabati and social activist Loitongbam Brajamohon Singh as presidium members.
As part of the event, floral tributes were paid to the photographs of Late Kshetrimayum Yaima and Thambal.
Prominent writers Dr Thokchom Ibohanbi, Dr Lamabam Gojendro and Ibotombi Khumancha were also felicitated.
Later, a poem recitation session was also held with Ashei Lup president Dilip Mayengbam as moderator.
