Traders and businessmen were found piling up their goods in the stocks when volunteers of the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) today raided some godowns at Mantripukhri area.
AMSU volunteers conducted the surprise search to the godowns of the traders located at Mantripukhri.
Padlocks of some of the godowns were broken down during the raid when chawkidars refused to open the locks of the godowns voluntarily on the pretext of not giving permissions by owners.

were found storing in plenty.
Names of the traders running the godowns could not be revealed by the volunteers as chawkidars failed to come back when they left the places to inform owners.
Later, AMSU volunteers warned the traders to come up at its head office tomorrow and explain the reason behind the concealing the goods and selling at higher prices.
They should also enusure making available to the people without fail.
Volunteers taking part in the raid said that the same will be conducted further in the coming days too.
