Imphal, July 27 2025:
The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has asserted that it is imperative to uproot BJP from the soil of Manipur if the State's integrity which is now fractured must be rebuilt.
More than 100 people who were earlier working for different political parties including BJP have joined Congress party and a reception function was held at Langmeidong, Kakching district today.
Speaking at the function, MPCC general secretary Ksh Kennedy said that the whole country including Manipur has fallen behind in almost all development parameters since BJP came to power at the Centre and the State.
The country's economy has fallen into a very bad shape.
Key sectors like education, health and transport infrastructure have been plagued by misgovernance and policy failures, he said.
Now, there is not a single good road in Manipur, he continued.
Kennedy said that there is a total disconnect between Government departments and the public.
The youth who would determine the future of Manipur are being pushed into a precarious situation.
As a result of the BJP Government's policy failures and misgovemance, there is an impression that the hill districts and the valley districts are being administered under two separate sets of laws.
This has led to a big fissure within the State, the MPCC general secretary said.
The organic relationship shared between hill people and plain people has been strained by the BJP Government, he said.
In order to rescue Manipur from such a sorry state of affairs, it is time to teach BJP a befitting lesson.
Saying that the people's misery has been compounded by the imposition of President's Rule even though BJP has more than enough MLAs to form a popular Government, Kennedy called upon all the people to ensure a crushing defeat of BJP in the next State Assembly election.
Hiyanglam AC's PCC member Dr H Jiten, Kakching District Congress Committee president A Rahaman, Kakching Block Congress Committee president N Ashok and Hiyanglam AC election campaign committee president E Ibocha were also present at the function.
