Lions Club organises eye camp

Imphal, October 24 2023: Lions Club of Imphal East in association with Horizon Hospital & Research Institute, Porompat organised a free eye screening camp in connection with World Sight Day on Tuesday at the Hospital.

In a release, Club secretary Raju Mandingbam informed that during the camp, examination for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataract, vision-screening and free sugar testing was carried out by three eye specialists, two refractionists and 18 para-medical staffers.

A total of 72 eye patients were examined and medicines along with eye drops worth around Rs 40,000 distributed to the needy patients, the secretary said.

Informing that patients having glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and cataract were identified and advised further treatment, Raju added that power lenses were also made available for the needy patients at 20 per cent discount.
