Role of elders for guiding youths amid conflict underscored

The 31st foundation day celebration of Health For All Organization (HFAO), Arong Khunou was held today at HFAO mini-children park.
The programme began with paying floral tributes to the valiant souls who laid down their lives to safeguard the unity and integrity of Manipur during the course of the prevailing crisis in the State.
Speaking as the chief guest, 2nd MR Commanding Officer, Victoria Yengkhom underscored the role of elders and parents in guiding the youths toward the right path to protect them from falling prey to unwanted activities amid the current unrest in the State.

She highlighted that the outbreak of the communal conflict followed by unprecedented acts of violence have not only affected the warring communities but all the communities in the State.
Though the State is undergoing a tough phase, this conflict has taught important lessons on the importance of preserving unity and integrity and extending humanitarian aid to one another at times of need.
Amid this difficult situation, it is highly important that the elders and parents guide the youths towards the righteous path to ensure that they do not resort to rebellious acts, she added.
She appealed to all to make cohesive efforts to pave the way for peace and normalcy for a better future for the upcoming youths who have been impacted by the tragic communal crisis.
The foundation day celebration was also attended by HFAO chief functionary Premkumar Heigrujam, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kakching, Th Rajen; Manipur College Assistant Professor Lairenjam Gojendra and Nirvana Foundation secretary Sobhana Sorokhaibam as the presidium members among others.
In line with the 31st foundation day, HFAO extended monetary aid to displaced children and elderly staying at relief camps, and distributed pension to elderly inmates at senior citizens homes managed by the organization.
The organization also honoured elderly people of Arong Khunou areas by presenting traditional shawls.
