MCCI members attend business conclave

Three members of Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) attended the three-day "1st North-Eastern States Chamber of Commerce and Industries Conclave", hosted by Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industries from September 18 to 20.According to a press release by MCCI, the event was inaugurated by Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and National Traders' Welfare Board chairman Sunil Jeevraj Singh as special guest and president respectively.
The second day of the event was held with Nagaland Department of Industries advisor MLA Hekanj Jakhalu as special guest; while the third day cum valedictory function was attended by Nagaland's Investment and Development Authority chairman Abu Metha as special guest.
During the Conclave, experts spoke on varied topics such as 'Prospect of Business Convergence in the North Eastern States: Issues and challenges', 'Investment and Business Opportunity in the untapped NE Market: Assessing Strength, Challenges and Need for Policy Intervention', and 'India's Act East Policy and NE States of India: Prospects, Issues and Challenges' .
An apex body of business communities of the north-eastern states was also formed during the Conclave, along with adoption of three resolutions to improve the economy of the region.
