Later, some of representatives were allowed to meet the DC at the conference hall.
Speaking to media persons after nearly two hours of meeting with the DC, Chairel Mangjil Youth Club former president So-rokhaibam Manimatum recounted that Napat and Tangjeng villagers have been living under constant fear and without a roof over their head even since Kuki militants attacked and burnt down houses around May 27 midnight.
After setting up bunkers in and around the said villages Kuki militants continued firing
at neighbpuring Meetei villages which led to loss of lives, though the government deployed central forces the latter barred entry of Meetei villagers but allowed construction of new bunkers by Kuki militants, he alleged.
As such, they came to inform about the uneasy situation to the DC, he reasoned, adding that assurance has been given to destroy the bunkers by June 19 .
In case the assurance is not translated into action, then they will launch intense agitation, he further warned.
