HSLC 2nd position holders aim civil services

Omega Chanu Wangkhem and Venus Laiphrak-pam both of Ratankumar Memorial (RM) School, Kwakeithel, who secured the second position in the class X examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM), expressed their desire to join the Indian Administrative Service.
Omega is the eldest of two siblings of Sanjoy Wangkhem Meetei and Bandan Leima of Wangkhem Irengbam Mamang Awang Leikai but presently staying at Phoijing Makha Nambol.
She scored 591 marks out of the total 600 in the HSLC examination 2023 .
In an exclusively interview to The People's Chronicle, Omega confided that she will focus in appearing the civil service examination conducted by the UPSC.
Expressing her delight in securing the second position, though she.
expected to be among the top 5, she also appealed to students to obey their parents and teachers in order to succeed in life.
Venus Laiphrakpam, who also scored the same marks as Omega, is the daughter of L Sadananda Singh, a former national volleyball player and a SSB serviceman, and L Sobita Devi of Nambol Awang Leikai.
Venus expressed satisfaction that her hard work has finally paid off.
While giving credit of her success to family and teachers, the second position holder said she will pursue class XI and XII in science stream and then take arts at the graduation level to go for civil service examination.
