Toppers speak out their aim and aspirations

Pareihanba, who topped this year's HSLC examination conducted by BOSEM said he wants to become a doctor and serve the people.
Pareihanba is the eldest son of Yengkhom Sukumar and Yengkhom Renu of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi and has a younger brother.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Renu, who works as "Sevari/helper" to Brahmin chefs to look after every aspect of her son's need, expressed elation on witnessing her son come out on top.
"All efforts and hardships over the years have finally paid off and there could be no moment joyful than this," said Renu.
Topper Pareihanba also expressed utmost happiness on achieving the feat and expressed his desire to pursue Science stream and become a doctor and a civil servant.
Pareihanba, who studied at Regular English High School upto Class VI before shifting to Ratankumar Memorial School, also credited his parents, teachers and staff of his school for the success.
Pareihanba's father is a Grade IV Government employee at MSPDCL.
Omega Chanu Wangkhem of the same school, who bagged the second position said she aspires to become an IAS officer.
Born to Sanjoy Wangkhem Meitei and Wangkhem Bedana Leima of Irengbam Mamang Awang Leikai, Omega and her family have currently taken up residence at Phoijing Makha Nambol.
While speaking to media persons at her residence today, Omega Chanu Wangkhem credited her success to her parents, school Principal, teachers and every person who offered her words of encouragement.
The young achiever plans to continue her education till Class XII in Manipur in the Science stream and then pursue graduation in the Arts stream.
Following this, she will try her hand at the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC, she said.
Stating that she has no fixed hours dedicated to studies, Omega maintained that beyond attending extra classes in school, she did not get privately tutored in any subject.
In a message to young students, Omega stressed on the importance of discipline and respecting elders and teachers to achieve success in life.
It may be noted that Omega studied at St John's English High School, Nambol from Nursery to Class VI and then shifted to Rantankumar Memorial School from Class VII onwards.
The second ranker's parents own a tailoring shop and supply school uniforms and other items as a means of earning their livelihood.
Omega's classmate Venus Laiphrakpam who also shared second position also aims to become a civil servant.
She is the youngest daughter of ex-servicemen (SSB) L Sadananda and homemaker Subita of Nambol Awang Leikai.
Stating that there are no fixed reading routines, Omega said that she reads anytime she likes.
Maintaining that she had not attended any tuition and extra classes she had at her school was enough for her, she also accredited her parents and teachers for her achievement.
Ophelia Chanu Ngangom of the same school finished joint third with her classmates Sanchitra Thokchom and Silvia Mutum.
Ophelia, born to Ngangom Basanta who is in Manipur Police Telecom Service and homemaker Ngangom Sandhyarani of Kakyai Mamang Leikai, said she wants to pursue Science and become a doctor.
She has had a strong feeling to serve weaker sections and ailing people since her childhood and it keeps her striving for the best, she said.
Sanchitra Thokchom, who secured third position in the same exam, also expressed her desire to become a doctor.
Sanchitra is born to Thokchom Birjit who works at a chemist shop and homemaker Yanglem Premlata of Thangmeiband Thingel Leikai.
Silvia Mutum, born to Mutum Bashu and Mutum Nanao of Bamdiar Makha Leikai also expressed her desire to take up medical profession after completing Class XII.
Ophelia, Sanchitra and Silvia also credited their success to their parents and school teachers.
