RIMS, others conduct medical camps

Imphal, September 10 2023:
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal organised a free medical camp for internally displaced people (IDPs) at Wangoo Ahallup Mayai/Chithek community hall in Bishnupur district on Sunday.
In a release, RIMS media advisor N Phillip Singh conveyed that during the camp held with support from RIMS Non-Teaching Employees' Welfare Association (NTEWA), a team of specialist doctors from various departments of Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obst & Gynaecology, Dermatology, Clinical Psychology, Orthopaedic and Paediatrics departments catered to healthcare needs and provided counselling service to around 287 patients and distributed medicines and sanitary pads.
During the camp, NTEWA president Dr W Ranbir Singh also mentioned that RIMS will be organising more such free medical camps in future to support or provide health assistance to IDPs.
NTEWA also donated a sum of Rs 10,000 to the general secretary of the relief camp organising committee.
The free medical camp was also attended by nursing officials, staff and officials of RIMS, Imphal, it added.
Meanwhile, Edge Life, Singjamei Okram Leikai and CMO Imphal fast jointly conducted medical camp at the relief camp set up at Ideal Girls' College, Akampat which is sheltering people displaced by the present conflict on Sunday.
Around 70 inmates of the relief camp got benefitted from the medical camp, during which medicines were also distributed free of cost.
Edge Life has assured of conducting similar medical camps at various relief camps.
