MLA Nishikant pledges to protect Manipur

A sea of Youths of Manipur and MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam took a pledge to protect Manipur's integrity and lead from the front in facing all threats to the State.
Meeting the thousands of youth in front of his residence at Thouda Bhabok Leikai today afternoon, Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam signed a "pledge" endorsing the demands raised by the Youths of Manipur.
Notably, this came a day after members of the Youths of Manipur launched their campaign to "mobilise" Meitei MLAs and visited the residences of MLA Lourembam Rameshwar at Kyamgei and Power Minister Thongam Biswajit's residence at Thongju yesterday.
Significantly, the Youths of Manipur had stated that they were bringing their demands to all the Meitei MLAs.

The Youths of Manipur (YOM) has urged the MLAs to convene a State Assembly Session at the earliest and take concrete decisions to protect Manipur's integrity.
Today afternoon, scores of members of the Youths of Manipur (YOM), men and women, came to the residence of MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam and urged him to take a pledge to protect the State's integrity.
The MLAs spoke with the representatives of the YOM and pledged his support.
Nishikant took the pledge to protect Manipur's integrity and not succumb to any threat that may compromise the State's integrity.
He pledged to help convene a session of the State Assembly and pursue the present crisis in the Assembly for discussion in the upcoming Parliament session.
The MLA also pledged to lead from the front and face all threats to Manipur and his community.
He also pledged to resign as MLA if Manipur breaks up.
Earlier in the day, members of the Youths of Manipur visited the residence of Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata at Singjamei Bheigyabati Leikai.
The Speaker too signed a pledge that contains five declarations including an oath to protect Manipur's integrity.
Later, the YoM members visited the residence of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Y Khemchand at Singjamei Yumnam Leikai.
As the Minister was in Guwahati at the time, members of the YoM talked to the Minister over the phone.
