YOM continues to court Meetei MLAs

In continuation of its movement, Youth of Manipur (YOM) met three more MLAs on Sunday and made them to take the pledge for saving Manipur.
The MLAs along with the youth took the pledge of not making any compromises with regard to the integrity of Manipur, to try their level best for ensuring a sitting of the Assembly is con vened, to raise Manipur's issue in the upcoming parliament session and to stand at the forefront of any threat to the communities of Manipur.
On Sunday around 1pm, the members of YOM gathered at Singjamei Thongkhong and carried out a rally till Singjamei Kongba road.
The members then visited the residence of Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker and Yaiskul AC MLA Th Satyabarta in Brahmapur Bheigyabati Leikai.
However, as the latter was not at home, they talked with his (speaker) wife and family before contacting the speaker via phone and taking the pledge jointly.
The YOM members then went to the residence of Singjamei AC MLA Y Khemchand in Singjamei Yumnam Leikai, but the MLA was not at home.
As such, the volunteers contacted the MLA via phone to which Khemchand shared his stand with the YOM members and then went on to take the pledge.
Afterwards, the youth visited the residence of Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Sapam.
The MLA came out to meet them and jointly took the pledge.
The youth members then returned to Singjamei Thongkhong before dispersing.
As part of its movement, YOM began thronging the residences of MLAs on Saturday, to make the latter take the pledge of saving Manipur.
On Saturday afternoon, the volunteers of YOM visited Keirao AC MLA L Rameshwar's residence in Kyamgei.
However, as the latter was not at home, the MLA was contacted via phone and made to take the pledge.
Later, the volunteers went to the residence of Thongju MLA Th Biswajit in Ningomthongjao, where the MLA took the pledge after a brief talk with the youths.
