CRY (Child Rights and You) and Australian Consulate General, Kolkata today jointly organised by a one-day health camp for women and children at Ngairangbam Makha Leikai Ibudhou Pakhangba Community Hall, Imphal West.
The camp was conducted with the aim of providing essential medical services, health education, and awareness to the vulnerable sections of the population, said a release issued by Wide Angle.
It was a collaborative effort involving healthcare professionals such as Dr Bupen, consultant Orthopaedic/ sport medicine, RIMS; Dr Deli Khao, Critical Care; Dr Chingkhei, Emergency & Trauma, Raj Medicity; nurses & volunteers from Wide Angle, and Ngairangbam Makha Leikai Western Sporting Club.

The camp targeted women and children, offering a range of medical check-ups, consultations and health-related guidance.
It also provided medicine free of cost.
The health camp offered a comprehensive range of activities and services designed to address the health needs of women and children.
Some of the key services provided during the camp are Medical check-ups: Licensed medical practitioners conducted thorough health assessments, including measurements of vital signs, physical examinations, and screenings for common health conditions.
Nutritional guidance: The camp educated mothers and caregivers about proper nutrition for both women and children, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet.
Health education: Informative sessions were conducted on topics such as maternal health, child care, hygiene practices, and disease prevention.
These sessions aimed to empower participants with knowledge to make informed decisions about their health.
Distribution of essentials medicine: Basic healthcare essential Medicine, vitamins, supplements, and hygiene kits, were distributed to attendees to support their ongoing well-being.
Similarly, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal organised a free medical camp for Internally Displaced persons (IDPs) at Wangoo Ahallup Mayai/ Chithek Community Hall, Bishnupur District.
The medical camp was conducted with the support of NTEWA (Non-Teaching Employees' Welfare Association), said RIMS in a release.
During the medical camp, a team of specialist doctors from various departments of Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obst & Gynaecology, Dermatology, Clinical Psychology, Orthopedic and Pediatrics provided treatments and health counseling to around 287 patients.
Free medicines and sanitary pads were also distributed to all the patients.
NTEWA also donated a sum of Rs 10,000 to the relief camp organising committee.
Moreover, RAMAF (Rama Foundation) and RIMS Imphal also jointly organised a free Mega Health Camp and Skill Development Training Programme on September 9 at Manipur Trade Expo, Lamboikhongnakhong Relief camp.
In a release, RAMAF informed that the programme led by Soram Rajendra Kumar, regional achiever's awardee, Managing Director of RAMAF along with Y Montesori Devi, H/M Lamlonggei Primary School Mantripukhi; Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director RIMS, Imphal; Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS, Imphal and S Sarat Singh, CAO/FA, RIMS, Imphal, aims to provide essential healthcare services and empower displaced individuals with valuable skills so as to be self-employed and generate income.
The Skill Development Training Programme will equip participants with practical skills including Mushroom cultivation, Vermicompost, Food processing, Nursery making, Detergent making, Biofloc, Hydroponic, etc to enhance their employability and self-sufficiency, contributing to their long-term well-being.
