Ex-MLA, Red Cross reach out to camp inmates

Ex-MLA Salam Joy of Wangoi assembly constituency donated rice and fish to relief camps opened in different locations of the constituency.
The former MLA visited the relief camps on Saturday and handed over rice and fish (anabas) from his own fish farm to inmates of the relief camps opened at Shamurou Government Highschool and Thambaleima High School, Iramsiphai.
Meanwhile, Indian Red Cross Manipur State Branch distributed essential materials to relief camps set up at Mekola Gulap Higher Secondary School and at Konthoujam for sheltering people displaced by the conflict in the state.
In a release, IRCS Manipur informed that the relief materials included hygiene kit, kitchen set, woolen blanket and mosquito net among others.
The distribution of materials was attended by its advisor Dr Rk Nimai, state chairman Narendra Ningomba, vice chairman Dr L Manglem, secretary A Nabachandra, National Headquarter managing committee member Dr Sunil and Imphal West secretary Dr Th Bankimchandra among others.
A one minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to.
those who sacrificed their lives in the present conflict, it added.
