Imphal, September 22 2023:
Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi met with party MPs in Delhi to re apprise them of the prevailing conflict in Manipur and seek help in bringing a solution to the same.
Tombi, who is currently in Delhi, met Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale and others at the national capital on Friday.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle via telephone in this regard, Tombi informed that apart from meeting the party legislators, an appointment with union home minister Amit Shah is also being sought.
He continued that it is unfortunate that no action has been taken up against the Chin- Kuki narco-terrorists who have been terrorising the state for over four months now and the 10 Kuki MLAs, who have betrayed the state and are seeking the support of the Mizoram CM.
The conflict will surely be an election issue and the BJP would not be able to suppress the same.
It is unfortunate that the centre was able to neutralise the foreign terrorists during the Kargil war in a matter of few hours but has been unable to even dismantle the bunkers set up in the periphery areas, and allow the farmers to farm.
While it is possible for some volunteers to don police uniforms in the process of defending their rights, land, and property, from where the Kukis were able to procure weapons and fire upon the Meetei, along with a certain central force, he questioned and insisted that they should.be booked under the law of the land.
The consecutive actions of the BJP government are becoming increasingly strange day-by-day.
Law-and-order is imposed only in the valley and not it the hill areas.
The situation is turning for the worse.
It is condemnable of the central government to give step-motherly treatment to Manipur.
Additionally, any talk of separate administration, which is an impossible dream, is not be discussed with the Mizoram CM.
Rather the focus should be on calming the Kuki CSOs and the people.
The matter of separate administration should be discussed with the Manipur CM and the people of the state on another day and another month.
There is completely no rationale in making any such demand from another state, he remarked.
