In the wake of the
incessant rainfall triggered
by Cyclone Remal''s landfall,
district administrations have
issued advisories urging the
public to remain vigilant and
take necessary precautions.
These advisories come as the
state grapples in the aftermath
of one of the heaviest downpours this year, recording up
to 121.3 mm of rain.
Denizens have been urged
to stay abreast of the latest weather forecasts and
warnings from local, state,
and national authorities.
The
advisories emphasised the
importance of avoiding the
spread of rumours and securing homes by fastening
doors, windows, and any
loose objects.
Additionally,
residents are advised to stock
up on non-perishable food,
water, torchlights, first aid
supplies, medicines, and other
essentials.
The district administrations
have specifically instructed
residents to remain indoors,
especially children and the
elderly, and to keep emergency
contact numbers readily available.
Furthermore, individuals
are cautioned against venturing into vulnerable structures
such as unattached metal
sheets and trees prone to falling, such as banana and papaya
trees.
Agricultural activities
are advised to be postponed
until weather conditions improve, and residents are urged
to steer clear of waterlogged
areas.
