AR organises cleanliness drive on World Malaria Day

Assam Rifles on Thursday observed World Malaria Day themed 'Zero Malaria-Draw the line against Malaria' by organising cleanliness drive at Sehlon, Old Samtal and Kovang villages of Chandel district.
In a release, PRO IGAR (South) stated that despite significant progress in recent years, millions of people are still at risk as Malaria continues to be a pressing global health challenge, particularly affecting vulnerable populations in tropical and subtropical regions.
The PRO conveyed that emphasising the importance of collective action in combating the preventable disease, Assam Rifles organised cleanliness drive at the said Chandel district villages to spread the message of maintaining cleanliness as a step to stop propagation of Malaria spreading mosquitoes.
After the cleanliness drive, a lecture on Malaria including its symptoms, causes and prevention was also conducted, it mentioned, adding that the drive ended with an interaction with the villagers over refreshments and tea.
