'Mera Kwak Tanba' rituals performed

As done every year for the prosperity of the land, the ritual of Mera Kwak Tanba was performed with the attendance of titular king Sanajaoba Leishemba at Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal, here, on Tuesday.
The ritual is performed every year by Sana Konung at Uttra Shanglen on the tenth day of Manipuri lunar month of Mera.
Uttra Shanglen Lanching Purel began the Kwak Tanba ritual at Uttra Shanglen from the morning.
In the evening, titular king MP Sanajaoba Leishemba, Angom Ningthou, Lanching Purel, Maichou Purel along with Maiba-Maibi, Pena artistes and members of Thang-ta Loishang marched from Sana Konung till Thangapat Mapal and performed 'Kwak Tanba' .
Speaking in this regard, Sanajaoba Leishemba informed that Kwak Tanba ritual has been performed to protect the land from unfortunate incidents and bring peace and prosperity.
Stating that the different communities who have been residing harmoniously seem to be disintegrating, he wished the communities to live harmoniously and further prayed for 3efeating the enemies.
Sana Konung Maichou Purel Prof Ngariyanbam Kangjiya stated that the birds (crow) during 'Kwak Tanba' flew on the west side.
This foretells of occurrence of unfortunate incidents in the land.
In order to thwart such incidents, rituals will be performed before midnight, he added.
