Liberating Kangleipak ultimate goal: KCP
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, April 13 2023: On the eve of out fit's 43rd Raising Day to be celebrated on April 14, the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) described as fortunate enough that it receives continuous overall support from the masses which enable the outfit to carry forward the armed liberation struggle with fervour.

On the occasion, KCP's Politburo Bureau Standing Committee chairman Ibungo Ngangom also reminded the people that the outfit was founded with the ultimate goal of liberating Kangleipak (Manipur) from India's occupation and establishing an egalitarian nation-state of Kangleipak through scientific socialism.

In 74 years of India's occupation, Kangleipak has been subjected to a set of policies arid programmes which are demographically distorting, socio-culturally suppressive, economically regressive and politically oppressive.

Today, Kangleipak remains confronted with several grave challenges, which have been systematically imposed by the Government of India.

The ongoing demographic onslaught, inter-community tension, increasing economic dependency, socio-cultural imposition and corruption at every level of the political and administrative structures are some of the gravest challenges destroying the vitals of Kangleipak as a nation.

Citing one example, the KCP leader said that the growing sense of mistrust and aggression between the Meiteis/Meeteis and the Kuki cannot be denied as the peaceful coexistence between the two communities has become quite fragile.

However, KCP has firm stand that both the communities must seek to resolve all .issues in a reasonable and peaceful manner by denying the vested interests any opportunity to amplify the current communal tension for their selfish personal and political ends.

Indeed, all the indigenous communities of Kangleipak' are in the same boat and if the boat sinks all will sink and there can be no winners out of a communal conflict in Kangleipak, Ibungo Ngangom observed.

It is also a glaring fact that the indigenous people of Kangleipak are on the verge of being overrun by the burgeoning outsiders' population and continuous facilitated' influx of Myanmarese nationals along the border areas being the present biggest threat to the already fragile demography of Kangleipak.

On the economic front, Kangleipak has been reduced to an industry-less consumerist economy that is unsustainably dependent on external supplies even for the most basic necessities such as food, medicine and textiles.

When it comes to the socio-cultural realm, it is no exaggeration that the tentacle of the Indian socio-cultural juggernaut has done enough damage in the name of socio-cultural exchange and integration and promotion of 'national' unity and modernity.

As far as governance is concerned, it is a common knowledge to all that corruption is an institutionalised reality in Kangleipak today, where jobs are sold at exorbitant prices; people's electoral rights are commodified, Ibungo Ngangom said, adding that contractors are usually hand in glove with government organisations and politicians.

Though India claims to be the world's largest democracy, its real fascist character is slowly revealing itself in its policy measures which include brutal suppression of dissent, promotion Of one particular religion, biased crackdown on political opponents and electoral malpractices.

The V-dem Democracy report 2023 placed India at 108th position in its Electoral Democracy Index while the US-based Freedom House termed India a 'partially free' country in 2022.Despite all such realities, the hypocrisy-driven capitalistic Western countries are turning a blind eye to India's armed suppression of indigenous peoples in the Western South East Asian region including Kangleipak.

Accordingly, the armed struggle against Indian subjugation of Kangleipak is going to remain an uphill journey demanding solid dedication, perseverance and sacrifice but KCP is fully committed to fighting India until regaining sovereignty of Kangleipak, the message added.

On behalf of the outfit, Ibungo Ngangom also saluted all the leaders and members of not only KCP but also other organisations who made the supreme sacrifice in the struggle against India for a sovereign Kangleipak.
