Six cadres of different insurgent groups formally surrendered today to the authority at a surrender cum homecoming ceremony held at the auditorium of the Red Shield Division of 57 Mountain Division at Leimakhong.
Sixteen youths, who fled from a training camp of KCP (MC) in Bangladesh, intercepted by the Army of the Red Shield Division on their way to home, were also paraded at the ceremony at which DGP, Manipur, Y Joykumar and GOC, 57 Mountain Division, Maj Gen DS Hooda were present.
The six cadres (two from PLA and four from KCP(MC) laid down their arms before the two chiefs of the Police and the Army at the surrender cum homecoming ceremony organised by the Red Shield Division.

The two PLA cadres surrendered with a M-16 rifle and 9 mm pistol with magazines and four live rounds each while the four KCP (MC) cadres with one 9 mm pistols and ammunitions.
The 16 youths who were also produced during the ceremony were allegedly carried away from their respective homes by luring them for providing jobs outside the state.
They deserted the training camp by completion of three month training.
After tracking all the way for three days without food, they intercepted with the Army and brought to Imphal, they said.
GOC, DS Hooda, speaking on the occasion, congratulated his fellows uniformed men for treading steadily on towards their goal of bringing peace and harmony to the insurgency ridden otherwise 'Land of Jewels' Manipur state.
"The increasing number of surrenders is a testimony to the fact that people abhor violence and are desirous of leading a peaceful and prosperous life.
The people of Manipur realized that it is peace, and peace alone that can pave the way for development and prosperity," Hooda said.
The act of giving up violence by these youth is indeed heroic and iconic as they are conveying an explicit massage to the youths of the state that they should channelized their energy constructive towards work and not destructive violence, he observed.
General Hooda also stated that the example set by these youth is exemplary and will hopefully act like a beacon for the other misguided youth to emulate.
The call being given out by these youth to the people of Manipur is "Don't fall prey to the falls promises of various underground groups and give away your precious children to them," he said.
Manipur DGP, who also addressed the gathering, said that Manipur as a state of Indian Union is rule by people.
There is no meaning of waging war with arm but to fight democratically to get what they wanted.
DGP Y Joykumar observed that if one thing of living by looting other, it will not be possible to bring development in the region.
A man's future is to be decided by his labour and hard working is the only way to succeed in life.
He can take part because of his hard struggle to achieve the goal of life he said pointing to the surrendered cadres drawing their attention that no one can achieved their without sincere efforts of his own.
He also said that it would be better to know the true meaning of freedom.
The state is rule by a democratic form of government.
So, those elected leaders who are heading the state can be ousted if his or her work were not satisfied in the election.
Relating their experienced during their stay in the camp in which they told about alleged harassment meted out on them by the seniors and expressing their gratitude to the Army who extended warm welcome to them marked the occasion.
The six youths who said to be deserted from an underground camp said that they had left home with the promise of providing jobs by one Memcha of Langol Game village and believing their parents with good jobs.
They ran out of the underground camp after reaching Bangladesh and came to know that they were there to force in joining an underground group.
After then they deserted the camp and took asylum at an Army camp in Mizoram.
