RO urges people to aid peaceful election

In connection with the second phase of 18th Lok Sabha election scheduled on Friday, Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency returning officer (RO)/DC (Thoubal) Ahanthem Subash on Thursday appealed to all the voters to exercise their rights to elect candidate of their choice.
During a meeting held at his office, RO Subash informed that for the second phase election 4,84,984 voters will cast vote at 848 polling stations covering 13 assembly segments in eight districts namely Jiribam, Tengnoupal, Kamjong, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Noney, Pherzawl and Kamjong.
The 13 assembly segments include Jiribam, Tamenglong, Phungyar, Ukhrul, Chingai, Karong, Mao, Tadubi, Tamei, Tamenglong, Nungba, Tipaimukh and Thanlon, he mentioned.
Stating that the polling personnel had been dispersed to their respective polling stations and are prepared for the election, the returning officer continued that the voting will begin on 7 am till 4 pm.
He also appealed to the people to assist the authority in conducting a peaceful and successful election.
