Sharda meets BJP national leaders at Guwahati

BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda met party's national leaders at Guwahati in Assam and urged them to mount pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah to bring back peace and normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.
As per a report, a meeting of BJP eastern zone was held Thursday at Guwahati chaired by national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh.
Ahead of the meeting, A Sharda met BL Santosh and BJP Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra and submitted a report of the ongoing violence in Manipur and urged party leaders to mount pressure to PM Modi and home minister Amit Shah to do the needful to bring peace in Manipur.
After receiving the report, the BJP national leaders assured Sharda that territorial integrity of Manipur will be protected and no step against the interest of people of Manipur will be taken.
BJP presidents and in-charges of North East states were to submit status report about political scenarios of their respective states in the meet but A Sharda met BJP national leaders ahead of the meeting in the morning and left Guwahati for Imphal after presenting a report of the present situation in Manipur.
The report further said that A Sharda pressurised BJP national leaders to push out illegal immigrants from Manipur at the earliest and also urged them to take up necessary action to help violence affected people taking shelter in relief camps from party's side.
Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Sharatkumar clarified tl hat he did not attend the BJP i neet-ing for Lok Sabha election at Guwahati but was in the Assam city for treatment and check-up.
