AR interacts with VAs, holds security meet

Assam Rifles organised 'An Interaction with Headmen/Village Authorities' of 25 villages at Chassad in Kamjong district.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the meeting deliberated on the present security scenario and also dwelt on several key issues including providing coaching to students in 5th and 8th grades for entrance exams to Sainik schools, military schools and Rashtriya Indian Military College, organising pre-training for local youth for enrolment into the AR, other central police forces and as Agniveer along with conducting awareness campaigns to encourage locals to apply for govemment/private sector jobs under the UDAN project.
The release also mentioned that AR along with representatives of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) conducted a security meet with the village authorities at M Mollum village, Churachandpur district on Tuesday with the participation of village chiefs/secretaries of Makhao, Leisan Tampak, Patzang, Pantha, G Songgel and other adjoining villages under Sangaikot sub-division.
During the meet locals were sensitised and updated on prevailing security situation in the area and encouraged to align their efforts towards a common goal of peace and prosperity in the region.
The said meet also served as a platform to all concerned for brainstorming various security issues prevailing in the area, including career and growth prospects for the locals.
The need to engage youth in sports, education and other meaningful activities was also adequately discussed in the said meet.
The release further stated that the attendees expressed their solidarity to fight the odds for keeping the area peaceful and safe.
The villagers showed their keen interest to start the farming activities in the area.
The AR and CAPF representatives then assured security of the villagers during farming, mentioned the PRO.
