Govt responsible for present conflict: AMMCA

Imphal, June 20 2023: All Manipur Manuscripts Custodian Association (AMMCA) has stated that the government should be held responsible for the present conflict in the state.

In a release, AMMCA said that the conflict from May 3 was perceived as communal riot between Meiteis and Kukis due to misunderstanding between two communities and people believed in rumours spread by miscreants.

However, it has come to light that the conflict is a war waged by Chin-Kuki foreigners from Myanmar to wipe out other communities.

The illegal immigrants from Myanmar was launching a proxy war in the state so as to have a land of their own in the state, it continued, while adding that the government overlooked and failed to in tervene in time on the matter.

As such, the government should be held responsible for the present restive situation in the state, AMMCA asserted.
