Tribute event, cycle rallies, blood camp organised

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) battalions and units deployed in the state celebrated the 87th raising day of the force with various events on Sunday.
A release issued by CRPF GC Imphal informed that on this day in 1939, the force was raised in Neemuch, earning the distinction as one of the oldest central para-military forces ensuring the nation's internal security and stability.
In a solemn ceremony on the momentous occasion, CRPF Manipur & Nagaland Sector Inspector General, laid wreath at the martyrs' memorial, Group Centre Langjing, paid tributes to all the brave hearts of the force for their supreme sacrifices in the line of duty and extended best wishes to the personnel and their families on the occasion.

The inspector general, while addressing the Sainik Sammelan, read out the message of the CRPF to the force personnel and emphasised on the pivotal role of the force in maintaining law and order situation in Manipur.
He urged everyone to honour its rich legacy and to serve the country with utmost devotion and the spirit of "Nation First" .
On the occasion, an investiture ceremony was organised during which the inspector general decorated the officers and personnel who were awarded the DG's disc and commendation certificate for their valuable contribution in peaceful conduct of the parliament elections, 2024.Various sport activities including a friendly football match, painting competition for the children and a ceremonial feast where all officers and jawans dined together were also organised to mark the occasion.
Lamphelpat - headquarters 143 Battalion CRPF also celebrated the 87th raising day of the force with great enthusiasm and fervour, marked by a series of vibrant programmes, on Sunday.
The day began with cycle rally from its headquarters to Kangla Fort covering Governor Road, Keisampat Junction, Kwakeithel, FCI warehouse and back, with a motive to spread fitness awareness across the society under Khelo India Scheme's FIT INDIA initiative.
A mass tree plantation drive was also conducted following the rally at Directorate of Fisheries premises wherein Fisheries director T Phulen Meitei, assistant director Laishram Jayarani and project officer Hemchandra N and other officials participated.
Further, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the martyr's memorial followed by silent homage to the CRPF martyrs at battalion HQ.
Addressing the celebration, commandant Ravinder Sharma highlighted the sacrifices, valour and dedication of the brave personnel who served the Force since inception of CRPF.
He also praised the role played by the CRPF in maintaining law and order, counter insurgency and rendering humanitarian aid, inspiring the gathering to continue upholding the highest standard of service and patriotism.
On the occasion, Sainik Sammelan was also organised.
As a part of the celebrations, a blood donation camp was organised in collaboration with the RIMS, Blood Bank Department during which a total of 33 CRPF personnel from the unit donated blood with a motive to inspire and educate the people, dispel misconception and promote a culture of giving and social responsibility.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of RIMS medical superintendent Dr N Sanjit Singh, Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM) HOD Dr Pratima along with their team.
In the evening, an Inter-coy friendly football match and 'Barakhana' for the Jawans was organised.
Under the aegis of the CRPF M&N Sector IG, 69 Battalion CRPF, Mantripukhri on Sunday organised "Fit India Cycle Campaign" to promote Khelo India Scheme's Fit India Initiative and commemorate the CRPF raising day.
A Battalion release informed that the campaign led by its commandant SA Rojan Zimik witnessed active participation from CRPF personnel as well as local civilians at the unit headquarters in Mantripukhri and all company locations.
In his speech, commandant Rojan Zimik emphasised the importance of maintaining physical fitness through regular sports and physical activity.
He noted that the Fit India Cycling Campaign was an initiative designed to encourage and motivate individuals to stay fit. SENAPATI: Marking the 87th CRPF Raising Day, B/109 Battalion CRPF posted at Sen apati district headquarters on Sunday organised a tree plantation drive around their camp.
B/109 Bn CRPF assistant commandant Nula Bhim took the lead in the plantation participated by CRPF and 4th IRB personnel.
The plantation drive was organised to emphasise the importance of the role of CRPF in maintaining biodiversity and environmental cleanliness, the purpose of the drive was to promote and protect the environment as a part of the green initiative.
Later in the evening, a friendly volleyball match was also played between the 4th IRB personnel and the CRPF personnel.
