Kakching, June 01 2025:
Ema Hospital, Kakching Human Resource manager Naorem Piyari has stated that the hospital has neither committed any medical negligence nor made financial gains through unethical means.
Responding to allegations levelled by one Shangnaidar Tontang of Khangshim village through the media on May 29, the HR manager issued a clarification on Sunday.
Piyari informed that one Tongtang Khamran (65) of Khangshim village was admitted to Ema Hospital on May 23 around 11.15 pm with complaints of chest pain.
The patient was referred to another hospital for better treatment but unfortunately passed away later.
Ema Hospital extends its deepest condolences over the patient's demise, she said.

However, if there has been any mistake on the part of the hospital or the patient, it must be investigated in detail by legal or an expert specialist medical board to properly ascertain the facts.
Unfortunately, blaming the hospital even before any investigation is baseless allegation and is strongly condemned, she said.
Piyari continued that Ema Hospital has never kept a patient unreasonably just for earning some money.
The hospital has always been generous and considerate to patients with poor financial background in Kakching district and also holds many records for timely transfer or reference of patients in need of better health care services.
In the case of the particular patient, the total fee/charges amounted to Rs 7900 for routine examination.
No other diagnostic test was performed, she added.
The manager further informed that when the patient was referred, the hospital suggested having a staff nurse in the ambulance to accompany them to the other hospital to see to any emergency medical need.
However, the patient party declined the suggestion and also signed a consent form, agreeing they would be solely responsible for any risks along the way.
In addition, the patient was in stable condition when leaving Ema Hospital.
Condemning the allegations on the hospital, Piyari said that such baseless charges seem intended to demoralise doctors, nurses, staff and others working in the medical field in general and tarnish image of the hospital in particular.
Thus, she appealed to all not to slander any hospital before establishing the right and wrong including assaulting medical staff and destroying hospital properties.
