Kukis accused of indulging in illegal activities

Pioneer Club Bishnupur Ward No 4 organised a one-day public discussion on the present crisis in the state at Yaingoi Ningthou community hall in Bishnupur district on Saturday.
Social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram and Indira Gandhi National Tribal University associate professor Dr Homen Thangjam were special speakers of the event held with the participation of members of Meira Paibi groups and local youth clubs of different localities in Bishnupur district.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Dhanabir Laishram highlighted the natural beauty and abundance of Manipur and called upon the people to fight for safeguarding the territory of Manipur.
Contrary to achievements in the field of art and culture enhancing the profile of Manipur, the Kuki community seemed accustomed to military rule and have no democratic culture, which is why the whole state is suffering from their aggression initiated without any second thought, he said.
Dr Dhanabir also called upon the indigenous people of Manipur to teach the right lesson to the war mongering people of Kuki community.
Meanwhile, Dr Homen Thangjam observed that despite being an ardent lover of art and culture, the Meetei community need to take the role of an army when the very territory and identity of the state is threatened.
He also called Kukis as war mongering community and urged all to stand united and defeat the aggression.
