Senapati CSOs air grievances to Guv Uikey

Governor Anusuiya Uikey visited Senapati district on Saturday and interacted with representatives of various civil society organisations (CSOs), women groups and student organisations in the district.
The Governor heard their grievances and assured of extending all possible assistance in the best interest of the people and development of the district.
On her arrival in Senapati town, Governor Anusuiya was accorded a warm welcome by Senapati deputy commissioner Mamoni Doley, SP Ms Anupam and other officials along with representatives of CSOs and public.
The Governor interacted with representatives of Naga People's Organisation, Senapati; Zeliangrong Union, Senapati Zone; Maram Union, Senapati; Senapati District Women Association; All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM); Senapati District Students' Association; Senapati District Olympic Association and Indian Red Cross Society, Senapati District Branch.
These organisations raised issues pertaining to development of the district including setting up of a medical college, construction of multipurpose hall, upgrade of Don Bosco College, Maram to a full-fledged university, setting up of a rehabilitation centre for the drug affected youth as a part of drug surveillance programme, functioning of a blood bank at the district hospital and upgradation of Astro Turf, Senapati.
While ANSAM raised concerns regarding the Centre's decision to fence Indo-Myanmar border, among other issues, IRCS requested the Governor for providing an ambulance.
The CSOs also submitted memoranda to the Governor and urged for extending all possible help in the interest of the tribal people in the district and requested her to convey their message to the centre that Union ministers should pay visit to the hill districts.
The Governor, while giving them a patient hearing, said that the government is committed to develop the hill districts in the state and many welfare measures have been introduced.
She assured of extending all possible assistance for the welfare of the people in the district.
The Governor also enquired about developmental activities taken up in the district and asked the DC Senapati to submit a detailed report in this regard.
