BEG smells rat over Rakesh's death

Raising suspicion of possible foul play in the death of Rakesh Takhellambam, who was found shot dead inside the campus of DM College on Saturday; Business Excellence Group (BEG) has urged the government authorities to look into the case and unearth truth of the matter.
In a press meet held at the residence of the deceased at Moirangkhom on Saturday evening, BEG secretary Anand Sapam raised suspicion on the death of Rakesh, who was found dead with bullet injuries inside DM College campus in the afternoon.
He continued that it was extremely unfortunate to see rumours being circulated on social media platforms of the death being a suicide case without any investigation whatsoever.
As such, he appealed to the government to help find the truth in the case.
Meanwhile, Rakesh's younger sister Romila Takhellambam strongly rejected the possibility of her brother committing suicide, considering the fact that there were no family or any other issues troubling him.
On Saturday morning, he left home with a smile and was in contact during the day as well.
Her brother never expressed any depressive statement and thus, his death is highly suspicious, she expressed and urged the government to help find the truth behind his death.
Rakesh was found dead with his throat bearing a bullet wound.
The 47-year old, son T Ibochou of Yaiskul Chingakham Leirak was an LIC agent and also ran a spectacles shop named "Indra Opticals" at RIMS Road.
According to police report, after receiving information that body of a man is lying near GP Women's College Hostel inside the DM University campus around 2 pm, a team led by Imphal police OC along with forensic experts rushed to the spot and Rakesh lying on his back with a .32 license gun on his chest.
Imphal police has registered a case and investigation initiated while the body has been deposited at RIMS mortuary for post mortem examination.
