Catholic council holds peace march at Longmai

Noney, October 25 2023:
Assumption Catholic Parish Pastoral Council, Lu-angchum, Noney organised a mega peace procession to honour Mother Mary and for peace and co-existence in Manipur on Wednesday at Longmai Town, Noney district Hq.
Most Reverend Dominic Lummon DD, Archbishop of Imphal, led the peace procession on a float holding Mother Mary 's statue, the Archbishop and Angels.
The march began from St Joseph's School Ground, Khumji and ended at the Longmai Bazar traffic junction.
Thousands of people from 12 catholic churches of Noney district took part in the mega peace procession.
Following the march, a mass special prayer service was held at St Joseph s School Playground, Khumji.
The chief celebrant was Most Rev Dominic Lummon DD, Archbishop of Imphal, and the speakers were Rev Fr Nicholas Khangthailung, priest in charge of Pinjang Mission Centre and Rev Sr Cecilia Azeina CMC, Superior, Nirmalabas Convent, Imphal, who spoke on the topics of The role of Mary, the Mother of Jesus in Salvation History and Virgin Mary, the Model of Christian Faith.
Addressing the mammoth gathering, Most Reverend Dominic Lummon DD said, "Let's forget and forgive the past and create a peaceful coexistence in our state".
A blessing prayer programme was also held for the people of Noney and Manipur.
