Sekmai AC administers highest number of Covid vaccine doses in IW today

Imphal, July 20 2021: Sekmai Assembly Constituency emerged as the highest vaccinated Assembly segment in Imphal West for the day with a total of 1064 doses being administered to beneficiaries.

The MLA of the Assembly segment, H Dingo today personally visited the Covid vaccination sites and assessed the progress of vaccination, said a press release issued by PRO of the MLA.

Delighted over seeing people coming out in large numbers to take Covid vaccine shots at Sekmai Kangjeibung Upper Primary School, Magic Parking Sekmai Khunou and other three spots, the MLA also expressed happiness and lauded the spirit of the people.

Speaking on the sidelines of the inspection visit, the MLA expressed that low level politics during this pandemic time was unwelcoming and stated that saving lives has been the priority of the State Government and the Central Government.

If there is life, development can eventually be witnessed and no time can hold development from taking place, remarked the MLA.

The MLA stated that the Assembly segment has held 45 Covid vaccination programmes till date and had given more than 11 thousands vaccine shots including second doses.

The AC will soon be fully vaccinated against the virus, he added.

Dingo further noted that the AC has conducted mass Covid testing.

(RAT) 46 times apart from 700 being tested as a part of contact tracing.

On distribution of relief items to Covid affected families, the MLA stated that there has been continued relief work to reach out to those confined within containment zones.

Appealing all to feel free to contact him for assistance, he also maintained that Covid positive persons may be lodged at the Community Home Isolation Centre developed for the AC at Sardar Patel School, Khurkhul.
