Imphal, June 13 2025:
The All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has accused the Government of India of following a partisan and divisive policy with respect to the region.
The Bangkok Declaration of June 14, 2001 was a manifestation of New Delhi's partisan and divisive policy, said a statement issued by AMUCO.
Recalling how AMUCO and the people of Manipur stood firmly against the phrase 'without territorial limits' inserted in the ceasefire agreement, it asserted that the age-old relationship shared among the different communities of Manipur can never be snapped nor its integrity ever destroyed.
June 14, 2001 was a day which challenged the integrity of Manipur and AMUCO protested it vehemently.
AMUCO has been observing June 14 as the Protest Day against the Divisive Policy of the Government of India every year.
It then called upon all the people to renew and reaffirm the collective resolution to defend the integrity of Manipur.
If the Government of India succeeds in destroying the integrity of Manipur, all its communities without any exception would be wiped out.
The Government of India has been discreetly following a policy to annihilate all the communities of Manipur.
That is why, the Government of India has been consistently following a partisan policy, it alleged.
All the people of both the valley and the hills ought to stand united and fight this secret policy of the Government of India with a collective resolve otherwise all will perish, AMUCO said.
It would be most prudent for the Government of India to explore a political solution to the India-Manipur conflict, it asserted, As a result of the Government of India's heightened divisive policy, Manipur is literally burning with inter-community relationship marked by distrust and conflicts, it said.
Asking the Government of India to withdraw its diabolic policy aimed at polarising the communities, AMUCO decried that there are growing challenges to its territorial integrity, population invasion, settlement of innumerable numbers of illegal immigrants and these illegal immigrants have been granted all the rights entitled to an Indian citizen.
The issues besieging Manipur can be resolved when the Government of India withdraws its divisive policy, drives out illegal immigrants and explore a political solution to the India-Manipur conflict, it asserted.
If the Government of India continues with its partisan and divisive policy, peace and stability will remain elusive.
If the Indians respect the history of their freedom struggle, the Government of India must work sincerely to find a political solution to the Manipur-India conflict, it added.
