He attributed the state's continued underdevelopment to the loss and assimilation of the culture and traditions of their forefathers.
Had wefollowed their footsteps, we would have already reached greater development," he remarked.
He also highlighted Japan as an example of a developed nation, where the people have a strong drive to work hard regardless of circumstances or challenges.
He said that Without hard work, development is impossible.
Instead of feeling helpless about the decline of society, one must find the courage to work hard and develop, no matter the obstacles, he said.
Robindro further stressed that true development can only be achieved when the society become self-sufficient in food production.
He said that agricultural fields should not be left fallow if the state is to increase its agricultural output.
"We must support the young people who are stepping forward during these difficult times and working to make our lands more productive," he added.
Delivering the presidential speech, Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwar, who is also the chairman of the Planning and Development Authority, announced plans to construct a large shrine dedicated to Ibudhou Pa-khangba, to ensure that the people of the state do not forget their roots.
He called on the public to extend their support for this initiative.
Rameshwar also highlighted the contributions of King Khagemba, noting that during his reign, the state had a strong military and undertook various welfare activities for the people.
King Khagemba was instrumental in the development of coin usage, the construction of Kei' (granary), the introduction of taxes, the establishment of Pakhang Phal' and 'Leisha Phal', the creation of marketplaces and the standardization of Sagol Kangjei.
In recognition of King Khagemba s contributions to public welfare, Rameshwar assured that a large 'Kei' would be built in Kyamgei.
