Rotary Club distributes vocational service awards

Rotary Club of Imphal (RID-3240) presented its vocational service awards in a ceremony held at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri on Sunday.
The event, attended by past president Dr Ngangom Indrakumar as chief guest, celebrated the dedication and service of individuals across various fields.
Two students from the Orphan Home in Dewlahland, Wairokpam Prafullo and Chingakham Thouba, were honoured with the Sagolsem Indramani Memorial Award for Rotary Scholarship.
The scholarship award sponsored by (late) Indramani's daughter S Snehprabha, wife of S Nilamani, supports deserving students in their educational pursuits.
Moreover, four students from the Government Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat, Imphal, namely Heishnam Borish, Kabi Ganglu, Md Nagawip and Rekuipam R Shimray, were honoured with presentation of the Sagolsem Juge Memorial Rotary Scholarship, sponsored by Juge's son S Jiten to promote inclusivity and education.
The Club also bestowed an award upon Manipur's noted singer, Sunita Nepram.
The award, sponsored by Om Prakash Agarwal, acknowledges and supports the exceptional talent and contribution of individuals in the field of performing arts.
Furthermore, the winners of the 48th Rotary on the Spot Painting Competition '2023 were announced and felicitated.
Sanahen Oinam of Pitambara English School secured the first position, followed by Nongmaithem Korounganba of Heritage Convent School in second place and Aditya Sinam of Tiny Tots' Unique School in third place while N Pristina of Lee Faith School, Yengkokpam Carroli of Mega Manipur School and B Aditya of St George High School, Wangkhei won the consolation prizes in Group-A category.
In Group-B, Lanleiba Sinam of Ramakrishna Mission School, Brikram Lourembam of Comprehensive School, and Seram Jairaj of Nongpok Maheikol bagged the first, second and third position respectively while Ningombam Priscilla of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leimakhong, Rajkumar Nishanta of Maria Montessori School, and Ksh Geetchan-dra of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School won the consolation prizes.
In addition to individual achievements, Rotary Club of Imphal also recognised two outstanding personalities for their significant contributions to society.
Guru Leimapokpam Lakpati of Kwakeithel Nganapithong, Imphal West, and Arambam Jamuna of Sagolband Meino Leirak, Imphal West, were honoured with the Rotary Senior Citizens Awards 2023.Addressing the gathering, chief guest Dr Ng Indrakumar congratulated all the awardees and expressed appreciation for their valuable services to the community.
Hcencouraged them to continue their services for building a peaceful and developed society.
