Monetary aid provided; Govindas gives peace call

Bishnupur, July 13 2023:
Works minister Govindas Konthoujam on Thursday distributed Rs 500 each to inmates of relief camp set up at Old Mini Secretariat Complex near Loukoipat run by district administration Bishnupur in collaboration with Apunba Tengbang Lup, Bishnupur.
The financial assistance was distributed under first phase of the government initiative for people displaced due to the ethnic violence.
Speaking at the programme also attended by Bishnupur ADM H Bobby Sharma, BDO (Moirang) Loitongbam Rishikanta and camp secretary M Bilky among others, minister Govindas urged all to give up communalism and work together for peace and harmony.
Appealing to the CSOs to extend their support in restoring normalcy and reviving the age old bond of brotherhood, he maintained that only when peace is restored one can look for brighter future ahead.
Meanwhile, Thiyam Apunba Meira Paibi Lup led by its president RK Pramo handed over monetary donation provided by Thiyam villagers to United Protection Committee, Nambol on Thursday.
