Bishnupur, July 13 2023:
Apunba Meira Paibi Nupi Lup and Terakhong and Terakhong Athletic Social & Cultural Organisation (TASCO) Terakhong jointly organised a sit-in protest demanding speedy restoration of peace in strife-torn Manipur.
Speaking at the protest held at Terakhong, Hijam Shitaljit, joint secretary TASCO, stated that the Government has failed to restore peace even as the conflict has raged for more than 2 months and led to the suffering of thousands of people.
Thus, he appealed to the State Government to take up stringent measures to bring peace in the State and further take steps to allow commencement of agricultural activities in the peripheral areas .

An unnamed meira paibi who partook in the protest exclaimed that the Central Government can diffuse the tension in the State within two days if it wanted.
Stating that if the violence had erupted in a major Indian State, then the Central Government would have taken prompt steps to bring the situation under control, she decried Delhi's step motherly treatment of Manipur.
She also spoke out against the Assam Rifles and the atrocities committed by Kuki militants during the course of this conflict.
Thus, she appealed for abrogation of SoO pact with Kuki militants, implementation of NRC and withdrawal of Assam Rifles from Manipur to bring peace.
At the protest, the womenfolk held many placards with messages such as "Manipur's territorial integrity cannot be compromised", "Go back Assam Rifles", "Flush out Kuki militants", "No separate administration in Manipur", "We condemn India Government's biased treatment", "We want peace in Manipur" etc.
