Rikhumai Taphou celebrates achievement of village duo

In recognition of significant career milestone achieved by two of its members, Rikhumai Taphou village organised a felicitation programme for PK Theophilus, director (Geology) Ministry of Mines, Geological Survey of India (GSI); and Major Raishe PA, director (Plan Evaluation & Monitoring), Ministry of DoNER, North Eastern Council.
Paongaomai Kho Theophilus, a native of Rikhumai Taphou, was recently promoted to director (Geology), GSI while Major Raishe PA, son of S Apao of Khabung Karong, who had served in the Indian Army through the Combined Defence Services (CDS), secured his current position in the Ministry of DoNER through a competitive selection process.
During the event, PH Fuvei, chairman of Rikhumai Taphou village, congratulated both individuals on their achievements, emphasising that their achievements are a source of great pride for the entire community.
The chairman attributed the duo's success to their dedication, hard work, and academic perseverance, and encouraged other villagers to draw inspiration from their journey.
In his address, Theophilus urged the villagers to continue uplifting and supporting the youth, particularly students, through prayer and encouragement.
Major Raishe PA echoed similar sentiments, attributing his appointment to God's grace.
He underscored the importance of education as the foundation of development and encouraged the youth to remain focused and diligent, emphasising that success is a result of persistent effort rather than mere luck.
Social worker LD John, in his remarks, highlighted that successful individuals do not necessarily do different things, but rather do things differently.
He urged the duo to continue working for the welfare of the people wherever their responsibilities may take them.
Rev SK Salouni, home evangelist of Rikhumai Taphou Tungjoy Baptist Church, described the occasion as a moment for spiritual reflection and rededication to God.
He emphasised that acknowledging God's role in one's accomplishments opens the path to greater success.
Prior to the event, congratulatory messages had been extended by Poumai Naga Students' Union (PNTM), Tungjoy Youth & Students Organisation, and Rikhumai Taphou Youth & Students Organisation.
