Vocational orientation-cum-interaction session held

Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe (Monsang Naga Students' Union) organised a one-day vocational orientation cum interaction-session under the theme 'Let's Reason Together' at Liwachangning hall, Chandel on Saturday.
Assistant professor Bd Maria Anal of United College, Lambung and Dr Somie Wanglar Monsang, former assistant professor, Miranda House, Delhi University attended the programme as resource persons.
Bd Maria spoke on the topic 'New National Education Policies & challenges of youth in globalized world (21st Century)' while Dr W Somie elaborated on 'What career opportunities can one seek or pursue after 10, 10+2 and graduation' .
Dd Maria stressed on the need to adapt to the changing trends of modern technological world.
She said that the new national education policy will help students get better equipped and open new avenues and challenges of lives among the youth in particular while Dr W Somie highlighted the diverse career opportunities one can seek or pursue after taking careful consideration of one's interest, personality, aptitude and skill.
More than 200 students of Monsang and other communities studying in class es VIII-XII at St Peter's Hr Sec School, St Joseph's High School, Angam Memorial School, St Paul High School, Shallom English Academy attended the career guidance programme.
Under-graduate students from various colleges and universities also attended the day-long career interaction session.
Sh Manglem, former ADC member Chandel; Ng Benithan, president SUR; Sanuw Ts Dinpham, president SSR; Th Alfred, headmaster St Joseph High School; Dr Sh Wilson, FSO, Chandel; Sanuw K Khishung, headmistress; ADC Chandel Sh Angningjoy; LBC deacon also attended the programme as special guests.
