Kangleipak was never part of India: PREPAK
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, January 19 2022: Manipur had always existed as a sovereign, independent kingdom for over 2000 years and was never a part of India, asserted People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK).

In a statement released by its Publicity & Propaganda Charge de' Affairs Leibaak Ngaakpa Luwang, the outfit said that Manipur was never a part of India to begin with, considering the then king Bodhchandra was made to sign the merger agreement in Shillong on September 21, 1949 under duress.

As such, the celebration of the 50th Statehood Day is basically a lie woven by the government of India to deceive the people of Kangleipak (Manipur).

Urging the people not to partake in the celebration, PREPAK said that India has been continuously trying to destroy the cultural tradi tions, customs and history of Kangleipak, by rewriting the history through engagement of fake experts/scholars.

Such tactics by 'imperialist' India have made the people to forget that they were once part of an Asiatic Sovereign Kingdom and left to think of themselves as the lowest of the low and suspect own origin, while forgetting their innate qualities of discipline, hard work and instead imitate the habits and customs of others as if it is the right thing to do.

"Efforts are being made to make the people assume Kangleipak as a dependent state.

In addition, the so-called elections are being held to give the impression of a democracy, when all it is doing is delegating and reaffirming the powers held by New Delhi.

Meanwhile, only narrow-minded people are allowed to hold the reins of Kangleipak, with the majority of the population being denied posts in the key offices and top institutes of India.

"Furthermore, the cultural traditions and customs of Kangleipak are being replaced by Hinduism.

India is slowly assimilating the various forces in Manipur to its own, just as a big nation does to a small nation after taking over it.

The attempts made by foreigner India till date is shown by the present degeneration of Manipuri society.

Nonetheless, despite all the tactics to destroy Manipur, the people continue to stand for an independent Kangleipak," it stated, while contending that PREPAK will continue to fight for an independent Manipur with the people, without any fear whatsoever.

The outfit continued: "The web woven by India is so deep that the status of Kangleipak has fallen into the depth of despair.

Apart from affecting the socio-politic-economic strata of Kangleipak, the web has also tangled the education sector.

As such, many young people especially the unemployed, instead of becoming confident and capable, have been rendered as burden to the society.

Others are being manipulated to fight over a little bit of money given by India.

"People can no longer recognise the true principle of democracy and electoral politics, and as such, they are made to believe that electoral politics is their only hope for the future.

Thus, Kangleipak is now witnessing family members hurting and even killing one another over elections, something which had never been seen in Manipur's history.

Many young people are being influenced to get addicted to harmful substances under the pretext of enjoyment during the polls," it remarked.

Questioning how many polls India has conducted since it annexed Manipur and the changes the polls have brought to the lives of the people, PREPAK further questioned whether the people have truly been given the taste of independence.

"The whole thing is basically jumping into a pit of fire.

It should be noted that the Covid-19 Omicron variant is spreading in the state, marking the arrival of the third wave of the pandemic.

However, mass public gatherings are being organised in the name of elections.

"Although the Allahabad High Court had suggested to the PM and the Election Commission of India to postpone the elections for 1-2 months, taking into account of the resurging pandemic, the government of India refused to do so.

There are many among the polling personnel and voters, who are yet to get vaccinated or are waiting to get the second dose of vaccine.

Also, fully vaccinated people are being urged to get booster shot or precautionary dose.

Amidst such a situation, preparations are being made to hold the elections, making it clear that elections are more important than the lives of the people.

The greed for power is far greater than the need to protect the people from Covid-19, Thus, it is time for the people of Kangleipak to be more vigilant against such deadly traps of India," the outfit said.
