Ccpur health workers felicitated

The Churachandpur Health department on Wednesday organised 'a day of recognition of front line health care workers' for their tireless contribution to Covid-19 management during the first and second wave at Synod Hall, IB Road, Churachandpur.
TA & Hills minister Vungzagin Valte, Churachandpur ADC Khaikhopau Ngaihte and CMO.Dr Vumchinpau Tonsing attended the function as chief guest, president of the function and chief host respectively.
During the function, 521 frontline workers and two NGOs were honoured with certificate of appreciation and gifts.
Acknowledging risk and hardships the frontline workers encountered, the minister said that the health workers and frontline workers are taking on significant personal risk, sometimes without adequate equipment to ensure all can receive the best care and support one needs.
Terming the workers as 'beautiful, dutiful and mighty warriors', he expressed his sincere appreciation for their work in hospitals, clinics, homes and everywhere.
"The tireless, dedicated but often undervalued role of frontline workers, caring for those who are most vulnerable, are keeping us safe despite the hardships and health risks," he added.
As per the District Surveillance unit, IDSP/Churachandpur, the district recorded a total number of 10,087 Covid-19 positive cases out of which 281 are health care workers and 1037 are from frontline (security) workers.
A total number of 9840 patients recovered from the virus whereas 177 persons succumbed to Covid-19 related complications.
It also recorded that the first case of positive case of Covid was reported on May 16, 2020 and the first death case on September 10, 2020.The function was also attended by DLOs from different departments, doctors, nurses, AWWs and health care workers.
